Mr. Otten politely told me I was not immune from my own ‘New Face’ bio - I’ve been so lucky to for all the help in this new position...from the training Ashley provided before she left to do her new thing, Brandi who is doing her job AND answering my millions of daily questions, and of course Mr. Otten, who most likely is not asking me to do everything I should be doing for him while I’m getting everything ready for the kids to arrive this first year. For those who don’t know who I am, I’m Ginger Schmidt; I'm the newest addition to the RCHS office team in the Administrative Assistant position. For the last three years I’ve been a regular at both RCHS and BGS as a substitute teacher, I loved being around the kids so much I decided to become a permanent fixture. My husband and I moved our family and farming operation here over 20 years ago from Colorado, and years later he still farms north of Bassett, both of my boys graduated from Rock County and are off on their own adventures. In my spare time I truly enjoy long distance outdoor endurance sports, coaching JR High Cross Country and helping with JR High track. I'm enjoying this new position and challenge, just anxiously waiting for the kids to come back from summer vacation.

We have some new faces this year, 2021 - 2022 is off to a great start already! If you see Hailey around please say hi and introduce yourself... Hi Rock County Schools! My name is Hailey Walmsley and I am really excited about starting as the Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor this year! I grew up on a farm near Norfolk, Ne where my parents ran our families hay grinding business. I was fortunate to be able to raise several kinds of livestock myself growing up on the farm. I was heavily involved in the Norfolk Agriculture Education Program and FFA Chapter when I was in high school. In May, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelors in Agricultural Education. I am honored to call Rock County my first teaching job! I love to include as many hands-on learning opportunities as I can, and I have a lot of fun stuff planned for this year! I can't wait to meet everyone!
