On Friday, April 19, the RCHS music students attended the District Music Contest in Ainsworth. They earned the following ratings:

RCPS would like to wish Ansley and Alyza good luck at the State National History Day competition which is being held Saturday, April 20th at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Ansley's project is on Grace Abbott and child labor. Alyza project was a website she created about Pearl Harbor. Please wish these girls good luck at state!
It was a chilly, windy day for golf. The North Central Knights Golf Team placed 5th at the O’Neill Invite today. Keian placed 2nd and Zak placed 10th.
Over 1200 pieces of high school and junior high artwork will be on display as part of this year’s Niobrara Valley Conference Art Show. The show is open to the public and is free of charge. The artwork on display represents the yearlong efforts of hundreds of art students throughout this area. Categories are as diverse as the students that enter work with drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, and more. Make plans to come check it out!

The JH track meet that was to be held in O'Neill on Tuesday, April 16th has now been moved to Monday, April 15th because of the weather. Start times will remain the same, field events at noon & running events at 1:00pm.

Rock County Public Schools and ESU #17 will be offering free early childhood screenings April 18-19th or by appointment. This is for children ages 0 to 5 years of age. If you would like to take advantage of this free service please call BGS @ 402-684-3855 to schedule.
What an amazing staff we have!!! I want to thank the School Board and Administration for allowing our staff to help out with the track meets. Coaches from all of the schools let me know how much it is appreciated that they are able to coach their athletes and not have to run an event! Both track meets ran smoothly and were a huge success because of all of the staff and volunteers that were able to help. Thanks to the Booster Club for all of the time and effort they put into organizing the concession stand. I could not do it without each and everyone of you! - Mrs. Fischer
Due to Rock County Public Schools fiber optic line being moved tomorrow, Rock County High School and Bassett Grade School will be without internet and phone service from 11:30 until the end of the day. If you need to contact the school, please do so prior to 11:30 or you will need to physicallly come to the school to get us a message. Again, Wednesday, April 10 we will have no internet or phone service from 11:30 until the end of the school day.
Attention Fine Art Club:
If you have called to check your student out to attend the Jr. High track meet, once they leave, they will be checked out for the day. Please be reminded that students must attend at least 4 class periods to be eligible to participate in after-school practices.
