RCHS Division Champions at CSC Scholastic Contest Fifteen high school students left the RCHS parking lot at 5:30 a.m. to attend the Chadron State College Scholastic Contest on Wednesday, October 9th. Rock County competed against nine schools in Division V and finished the day in first place as a team. Individually, students compete against each other in each test regardless of school size, earning team points for finishing in the top 25% of all test takers. Earning points for RCHS by placing in the top 25% on their tests were: Carter Buell and Trey Anthony tied for 2nd place in Agronomy and Rangeland Management Brandon Gilbert tied for 3rd place in Algebra 1 Noah Seberger placed 10th in Algebra 2 Trevor Keller placed 8th in Earth Science Noah Seberger placed 4th in Physics Addie Wiiest placed 10th in Plane Geometry Carter Buell placed 2nd in Psychology Keian Fischer placed 7th in Wildlife Ecology and Management Noah Seberger placed 5th in World History Blaine Frizzell placed 4th in Wildlife Ecology and Management Students who were selected and participated in the contest but outside the top 25% included: Collin Hagan – Algebra 2 and Wildlife Ecology and Management Trey Anthony – American History Bridget Lewis and Kade Wiiest – Animal Science Ireland Buell – Earth Science Brandon Gilbert and Addie Wiiest – General Science Lyndsey Sybrant – Physics Addie Wiiest – Plane Geometry Hannah Kaup – Veterinary Science Jaxon Cozad – World History

Hartington-Newcastle Lady Wildcats Volleyball Tournament **Gym Site: Hartington-Newcastle High School, 501 S. Broadway Street, Hartington, Nebraska. We will use two gyms. Our main gym is on the high school side, our new gym is on the elementary side. **Date: Saturday, Oct 12, 2024 **Format: All games will play best 2 of 3 sets to 25 points. **Schedule: 9:00 am: First Round 10:00 am: First Round 11:00 am: Second Round 12:00 pm: Second Round 1:00 pm: 3rd and 7th Place Games 2:00 pm: 1st and 5th Place Games **All games will be on a rolling schedule. Thursday all Juniors and Seniors will be leaving at noon to attend the college fair in Ainsworth. All will need to eat first lunch. We will be back by 2:30 pm.

Wednesday students attending the CSC Scholastic Contest will leave the school at 5:30 am and return at approximately 5 pm. Math students bring a Calculator.
