Based on current CDC and NCDHD guidance, Rock County Public Schools will no longer be requiring students to do temperature checks before school or before lunch. If COVID cases rise, we will go back to doing temperature checks. However, we do ask that you keep your children home when they are sick as to not spread other illnesses within the buildings.

Parents and Guardians: In an effort to address the needs of each of our students, Rock County Public Schools has adopted a universal screening tool to identify students that may require additional support in various areas. Bassett Grade School will utilize the reading, math, and social-emotional components. Rock County High School will utilize the social-emotional component. The screener will be conducted each fall, winter, and spring. The information gained will support the school’s ability to provide comprehensive and timely support for your child if they require any assistance. Parents may opt their child out of the social-emotional screener by calling Bassett Grade School or Rock County High School by August 22nd. We are committed to ensuring your student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally, and we look forward to partnering with each of you toward achieving this goal. Results from the screener will be shared with parents if there are any significant identified areas of need. The school district will work with parents to identify and locate supports if needed.
