Dear Parent,
Rock County Public Schools and Keya Paha County School, in participation with the Holt/Boyd Community Connections Collaborative, will be sponsoring Shelly Donahue on February 20th. As co-creator of a national abstinence and relationship curriculum called WAIT Training (Why Am I Tempted), she has addressed thousands of young people, parents, and teachers in 48 states and 7 foreign countries over the past 20 years in public and private school districts.
Her most recent international teaching experience was in China, where she taught as a guest college professor. Previous to her role with WAIT Training, she was a Health Education and PE teacher for 19 years; coaching volleyball, basketball, and track & field at the high school level in the mountains of Colorado.
One of Shelly’s significant accomplishments, in a practical sense, comes from her service as the Abstinence Education Director on the staff of the Weld County Health Department for five years. During her tenure there, she provided abstinence education teaching and training to schools, churches, youth-service agencies, and medical providers.
If you would like to know more, please visit her website “www.shellydonahue.net”. For our public-school assemblies, she focuses on the facts and does not include the faith based practices.
Keya Paha County School, grades 7-12 will join Rock County High School and Junior High School on February 20th with groups attending their own sessions. The seventh & eighth grade students will attend their own 45-minute session. Ninety-minute sessions will be provided separately for girls and boys in grades 9-12.
If you have any concerns about your child attending this presentation, please reach out to Mrs. Fischer or Mrs. Ebert by Monday, February 19th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ebert - Principal
Mrs. Fischer - Dean of Students

Parents/Seniors- Here is the latest FAFSA update from EducationQuest:
Federal Student Aid (FSA) has announced that the processing of FAFSAs will be delayed until mid-March.
What Does This Mean for Parents & Students?
FAFSA Submission Summaries will not be available until the first half of March.
Families cannot make any changes to the FAFSA until they receive an email confirming the FAFSA was processed. They can then see their FAFSA Submission Summary.
Colleges will not receive Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) until March, so financial aid offers will be delayed until April or May.
The good news is the tables used in the FAFSA calculations are being updated. This will increase the number of students receiving Pell Grants and the amount they receive.
