We will be having a quick little Arbor Day Program on Friday, April 26th at 3:00 at Bassett Grade School. Everyone is welcome to attend.

There is NO 10:00 start on Wednesday, April 17th. It is a regular school day!!

Hired Hand Auction and Benefit Dinner Monday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. With the recent floods, the Rock County FFA chapter would like to be part of the solution. We will be serving sloppy joes and salads and taking a free will donation. All proceeds from this meal will be given to local farmers and ranchers to help with rebuilding costs. The money will be distributed through the Region 24 Emergency Management Agency.
Along with the dinner, we also will be hosting our annual hired hand auction. Members in grades 9-12 will be auctioned off for 8 hours of labor. Money from this fundraiser will be used in the FFA's general fund to help pay for contest registrations and travel expenses.
ALL are welcome to attend!

NEW SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS
What do you think our students should know about social studies? The Nebraska Department of Education has released a draft of the Nebraska Social Studies Standards and would love to hear from you! The standards provide the framework for what students are expected to know about social studies, and your feedback will help make improvements to the standards before they are adopted. North Central will be hosting a Triangular Track Meet with Ainsworth and Stuart on Monday, April 8th. Field events will start at 4:15pm with running events scheduled to start around 6:00pm. If anyone would be willing to help out please contact Mrs. Fischer!

The 91st Nebraska State FFA Convention is in the books! The day started with Tatelyn Smith, Allie Cosgrove, Gracie Swanson, and Kyra Anthony becoming state champions and qualifying for Nationals in Agriscience Fair. Brooklyn Buell was awarded second for her Agriscience Fair project and also finished in 3rd place for her Ag Literacy speech. Brodee Fleming was recognized in Ag Sales for a fifth place finish. The Ag Issues team of Kambrey Smith, Riley Teel, Brielle Bussinger, Ben Klemesrud, and Hannah Keller were champions and will represent Nebraska at nationals. The day was capped off with the State Degree ceremony where eight seniors were awarded this honor Angel Cook, Josie Kuchera, Jayden Stewart, Brodee Fleming, Taylor Fales, Jared Shaw, Marcus Reynolds, and Trace Ebert - congratulations on this accomplishment showing your dedication to the organization.

Successful State FFA convention so far! Rock County FFA was recognized as one of the top 19 chapters in the state! Brendan Bussinger and Grace Olson were awarded second place in their proficiencies and Adam Turpin was named champion in his proficiency area! We have Agriscience fair students being recognized this morning at 9:00 on stage and CDE results (1:00) as well as State Degrees (4:00) coming your way this afternoon. Tuesday, March 26 there will be a junior high Agriscience Fair. 7th & 8th grade students in Ag class will have their posters on display from 9am until 4pm in the school multipurpose room. Parents and community members are encouraged to come see what the students have been working on.
