RC Superintendent Tidbits

Spring this year is bringing a whole new set of excitement as it means we are kicking off our renovation/addition

project at Rock County High School. As I have stated in previous articles, this project is needed for many reasons

such as student and staff safety, updating plumbing, updating electrical systems, and providing much needed

space to be dedicated as classrooms and concessions. Phase one of asbestos abatement is complete which also

marked the kickoff of the project. Throughout the next week or two, we should see our fiber optic being moved to

the east side of the building and then the dirt work will get started.

With the construction occurring this spring and summer, there will be interruptions in the availability of the

building and the parking lot. However, we are working to keep these at a minimum. We do ask that you abide by

all signage if you are coming to the high school during the construction. The parking may change throughout the

project and the entrance of the building will most certainly change from time to time this summer. We will do our

best to keep the inconveniences to a minimum.

The other excitement that comes this time of year is the spring activities. We have state FFA coming soon and

track and golf practices are under way. As always, we have very high hopes for our students participating in these

activities. Rock County has a strong tradition in FFA and Ms. Walmsley is working hard to keep that tradition alive.

Coach Klosterman is taking over a traditional strong track program and we expect great things from those athletes

this spring. Mrs. Fischer and I are working with our golfers and we have high expectations for this season as we

have some key returners as well as a good group of young golfers.

On top of all of this, the walleye bite should start soon. I have been spending time organizing equipment and

getting ready for the bite to start. We are probably two months from the good bite kicking off which works out

great because we should be golfing for about two more months, hopefully a little more if we can get to state.
