RC Superintendent Tidbits

Is it May yet? This weather recently has me watching the calendar more and more and wishing we were through

the winter months. When the snow stops falling, the wind picks up or the temperatures drop and then we still

have issues with getting students and staff to school safely. Thank you to everyone for being understanding when

it comes to school closures due to weather. We are all wanting the same outcome of students and staff getting to

school safely.

There is some exciting work being done by our facilities committee in regard to the renovation/addition project for

this summer. Finish products have been selected and the final design meeting occurred last week. The school

board will be accepting bids for the work to be done at the end of February and we could see progress starting as

soon as March 7. Most of the early progress will be exterior work, however, we are hoping to get some of the

asbestos abatement completed in March as well.

Throughout the process, our facilities committee members have had multiple meetings lasting two to three hours

each in order to discuss the design and work to get the most bang for our buck. The committee has done a great

job of not compromising the final product while still looking for cost effective solutions which will provide us with a

final product we can all be proud of. This will turn this space into a highly functional, aesthetically appealing, and

safe space for our students and staff to walk into each and every day.
